The bursting of the value of time onto the scene of urban reality is a recent phenomenon, which must be dealt with using innovative proposals based on in-depth knowledge of the situation.  For this reason, the NUST program is promoting a process of research, analysis, and diagnosis in order to dispose of detailed information on urban reality, the imbalances and tensions in citizens’ usage of time, as well as new practices for organising timetables.

In the face of new social realities and the need to balance personal, family, and working time, it is necessary to set up mechanisms that can analyse them and compare them with other similar situations.  In this way, it is possible to put innovative formulas into effect to raise citizen awareness as a whole and to reinforce projects that respond as accurately as possible to people’s daily reality.

The participation of institutions, research centres, and experts, constantly analysing a new, emerging reality is necessary in order to identify and define the development of time policies.
